Professor Flavio Almeida is one of the most recognized figures in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world. Professor Flavio is not only a 4th degree Black Belt under the legendary Carlos Gracie Junior but is also the Executive Director of the Gracie Barra association. In addition to his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu profession, Professor Flavio is also an Economist. Brains and brawn are the words to describe this BJJ master. Professor Flavio has a very decorated competitive career including multiple world championships, an ADCC Silver medal, 2 Pan American Silver medals, 3 world bronze medals, 2 Brazilian silver medals, and several local and regional medals.

Professor Bruno Fernandes is a third degree Black Belt under the legendary Carlos Gracie Jr. With 23 years of experience Professor Bruno possesses not only an exceptional amount of knowledge about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but also an extensive competitive career. Owner and head instructor of Gracie Barra Montreal, Bruno frequently visits Lanna MMA to offer seminars and private instruction. Professor Bruno not only holds a high rank in BJJ, but also holds a medical degree and residency training in ophthalmology. In addition to running his own school, Professor Bruno is a professor at McGill University and has published several academic journal writings. Professor Bruno has also helped train several well known MMA fighters including: George St Pierre, Rory McDonald, David Loiseau, John Makdessy, and Jonathan Goulet. Some of Bruno’s competitive accomplishments include: 4 World Title Championships, Several Pan Am Championships, and several National and Regional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships.
