Lanna’s Muay Thai Kickboxing Program is based on a graduating system, developed by Lanna’s owner and head instructor Kru Jordan Kravitz. Being one of the prominent instructors of Muay Thai Kickboxing in North York and Vaughan, Kru Jordan has lived and trained and taught in Thailand.

What is Muay Thai Kickboxing?
Muay Thai Kickboxing is one of the oldest Martial Arts in the world. Its history can be dated back to the middle of the 16th century. In the year of 1767 during the wars between the Burmese and Siam (the area now known as Thailand), Nai Khanomtom a famous siamese fighter and a number of Siamese citizens was taken prisoner by the Burmese. Knowing about Nai Khanom Toms proficient fighting skills The King of Burma put out a challenge that if he could be the Kings top Burmese boxers in a hand to hand combat match he would be freed. After easily defeating all of the top Burmese fighters Nai Khanomtom was freed and he became a hero in Siam (Thailand). The art that he had developed to defeat the Burmese fighters became known as Muay Thai Kickboxing, which is now the national sport of Thailand.
Today Muay Thai Kickboxing is often referred to as the “art of eight limbs” due to its application and use of punches, elbows, knees, and kicks. It has become very popular through its proven effectiveness in MMA and the UFC. It is not only one of the top forms of self defense but has also become very popular as a vehicle to improve your fitness, lose, weight, gain strength and tone muscles.
