Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ,Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and Circuit training is very much endurance based. Consuming real food is so important to fuel your workout and training session properly. Nutritional requirements of those who train in these areas are very different from strength/power athletes. Smoothies are an excellent way to help fuel your workout with a clean and nutritious energy source.

Here’s a great protein packed smoothie to fill all your pre-workout needs!

INGREDIENTS
1 cup spinach or kale
1 banana
2 soft medjool dates, or handful of strawberries or blueberries.
2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon peanut butter (or any nut butter works here too)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 heaping teaspoon maca powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup almond milk, or any nut milk (or more for your preferred consistency)
handful of ice
Natural honey (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.
Drink up and enjoy!

NOTES
You can modify this recipe by adding your favourite hemp protein or protein powder.
If you don’t like dates, add in another soft fruit of your choice – blueberries or strawberries will work well too!
